Left Bracket Fourth Round Elimination GRUDGE MATCH: Turner v. Toulouse-Lautrec!

This would be the Left Bracket Fourth Round Elimination Match between J.M.W. Turner (4-1, 49-18, .731) and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (6-1, 60-31, .659). They defeated Ghirlandaio (4-2-2, 53-42, .558) and Jean Tinguely (3-2, 29-28, .509), respectively, to get here.

It is a GRUDGE MATCH, ladies and gentlemen -- these two fellows met five seasons ago, in the halcyon days of June 2017, and Mr. Turner won that round.  This time around, the French painter needs to win outright.  A tie will go to Turner on the strength of his earlier win.

J.M.W. Turner
1775 - 1850
British

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
1864 - 1901

  1. I'm a fan of both of these artists. Sad to see that one of them has to go! I'm in a particularly Toulouse-Lautrec mood this morning, so it's an easy vote for him, but I probably would have swung that way regardless.

  2. I'm going to my flip my vote from their last match-up to Toulouse-Lautrec. Turner's last here is probably my favorite, but I just love Lautrec's colors and movement. And a lot of Turner's are kinda boring, like #3 and #4 above. Elliott casts his vote for Toulouse-Lautrec too.

  3. Turner for me. I'm mildly relieved to look back in the annals, and find I'm agreement with my past self.

  4. I thought I had voted in this one, but I guess not. Turner by a mile!

  5. I'm going to say Turner, but only by a kilometer.

  6. Turner comes back from a 1-4 deficit with six votes in a row, and marches on to try his hand against M.C. Escher in the next round. Watch out for trick stairways, Turner!
