Left Bracket Fourth Round Elimination: Homer v. Bouguereau!

This Left Bracket Fourth Round Elimination Match features Winslow Homer (6-1, 67-24, .736) and Adolphe William Bouguereau (5-1, 48-23, .676). Falling to them in the Fourth were, respectively, Frida Kahlo (3-2, 36-33, .522) and Andō Hiroshige (3-2, 30-30, .500).

Bouguereau's one loss came at the hands of Kahlo, which would seem to give Homer the logical advantage in this match.  Homer's own loss was to Pieter de Hooch, who has since been ousted from the Tournament -- by Homer himself, in a Grudge Match reversal.  You never know what to expect in the Infinite Art Tournament!

  1. I am tempted to vote Bouguereau for pure technical skill, but today I'm going to go for Homer and his color and dynamism.

  2. Unlike Mr. Morgan, I'm for Bouguereau because of the technical skill.

  5. So Homer's going against... Uh excuse me, I just threw up in inside of my mouth a little. Please let this be when we can say goodbye to Bouguereau.

  7. Ugh, can I please have Kahlo vs. Hiroshige?

Homer. Other dude has skills, but the naked woman and Eros are just the wrong size relative to each other, and just quit it with the naked women already.

Even I find his paintings to be just a bit too much.

  9. Bouguereau had a hell of a run, through the play-in Tournament and years of resistance from his adopted mother Chuckdaddy, and his survival to this point is a real testament to the power of his technical skill and heady mixture of sweet sentiment and mild soft-core pornography! Homer takes the match eight votes to four, however, and will therefore be the one taking on the "technical bravado," the "persistent appeal of Skagen imagery," and "frivolity of content" of Peter Severin Krøyer. Ought to be a heck of a match-up!
