Neither Georges Seurat and Egon Shiele had very long adult lives, so it's perhaps all the more impressive that they've both survived into Third Round Elimination. The first step for Seurat was getting past Gino Severini, the same guy who Shiele beat to make it into this match, so the two of them gave Severini the two losses that bump him out of the Tournament at 3-2; 28 vf, 24 va.
Also leaving this week is Jan van Scorel (3-2; 26 vf, 28 va).

Schiele, and I think all of y'all who voted for Seurat are nutso. Or maybe you just have different aesthetics from mine.
I'm surprising myself just a bit by preferring Schiele. At least this morning.
I really liked where Seurat was going artistically before he died. More like his first one here and he'd get my vote. And I'm not sure Schiele, despite dying even younger, would've gone in more interesting directions. But what he did was creepily awesome.
And two votes from my children for Seurat.
Schiele!

Suerat, but it's close.
I've just got no enthusiasm for either of these two guys...
Seurat.
Schiele put up a fight, but it was too little too late after Seurat's dazzling start -- the dotty guy gets the win, nine votes to five. Seurat advances against Spenser, while Schiele returns to civilian life.
