I like Vermeer, and he's clearly the better painter, but there's something about Vallatton's subject choices that is just going to make me choose him today. Because he's just going to paint a picture of someone looking in a closet now.
Vermeer is a master, and he'll win, but I'm voting Vallatton because he is more whimsical and mysterious.
