  1. Tough one, but I'll go with Stella.

  2. Mariah votes for Stella, although she's probably just riffing on Streetcar.

  3. Grace also goes with Stella, also on Facebook.

  4. Apples v. Oranges! I vote for apples, but am also a devoted orange-eater. I mean, Steen.

  6. I find this a particularly difficult decision. Steen does not stand out that much from the other Dutch Renaissance painters, but that is not exactly a criticism; Dutch Renaissance painters are awesome. Stella, on the other hand, I do like better than the other famous Abstract Expressionists. Still, not to be a modern art hater, that's not always saying a lot. To make the decision even harder, I love the first Stella; it's definitely my favorite picture of the 4. But I don't love his 2nd, which ones like come up often in his google image search.

Hmm.... I'll go Steen, but I reserve the right to come back and change my mind.

  8. I admit to an inordinate fondness of Stella, for nostalgic childhood reasons. Enough to vote Stella, even. But I kinda hope the other dude wins...

  9. Steen, despite the vibrant colors of Stella.

  10. Frank Stella looked like he had the match in hand after running up a 4-1 lead, but then -- pow! -- the Dutch master put together a 6-1 run to take it all back and claim the victory, seven votes against five! YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!
