Hammershoi
Out of the "old religious art" people, Giotto is up there for me, moderately behind the likes of Fra Angelico but certainly ahead of many. However, the appeal can only go so far. I'll vote for the quiet contemplation of Hammershoi.
Hammershoi. These really create a feeling in me as the viewer.
I'm beginning to get tired just looking at a Hammershoi. Enough with the languid weary women! Although anyone will have a tough time getting my vote over Giotto.
I'm not tired of Hammershoi--I'm still wondering where he's been all my life. But he does have a pretty narrow emotional palette. Whereas Giotto? He is this amazing trapeze artist between art before and art after. Giotto, Giotto!
I really thought Hammershoi was going to take my vote at first, but Jesus' staredown in the Garden of Gethsemane is something special. Giotto!

Susan votes-by-mail for Hammershoi.
Despite their wide difference in age, style, and use of color, these two artists both impress me and provoke very little in the way of emotional response. They really make me FEEL about the same. So, I'm going to abstain on them!
OK, I'm not generally permitted to vote at counting time, but my October comment seems pretty absurd coming upon it now. Both artists make me feel plenty. Since the outcome is already determined, I will reflect my repentant attitude by voting for Giotto, the trapeze, the staredown.
So, the roller coaster of votes ends with, let's see, six votes for Hammershoi and four for Giotto. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!
