Sargent
Rebecca Long, who has gone places in the art world since the old days, writes "Well, that one Sánchez Cotán is under my curatorial purview in Chicago, so I might be slightly biased but.... Sánchez Cotán!!!"
Okay, this annoys me, because for the past couple months we've seen a few first-round matchups where both of the artists fail to get any emotional response out of me at all and then THIS one comes along and both of these deserve to be third or fourth round contenders. Sargent gets my begrudging vote, and the other guy will, I am sure, get my vote quite a bit in the future.
Sargent
I do like Cotán, but not enough to beat Sargent.
Sargent.
Well it's too bad about Sánchez Cotán, who is quite good, but the Sargent there with the four daughters is one of my favorite paintings ever. So Sargent.
Sargent is pretty strong and gets my vote easily here.
Sargent, yes, and a darn shame to lose Cotán so quickly.
Susan's been trying to vote for Sargent for quite a while, and it's finally taking.
An interesting poll -- Sanchez-Cotan, even with a personal "in," gets drubbed by Sargent, nine votes against one. But who knows! Maybe this is the amazing story where they meet again in the final match! Double elimination is all sorts of crazy.
