This is a close one for me, mostly coming down to Ostade's first one and Leighton's second. I think I'll have to give my vote to Adriaen van Ostade.
van Ostade
Adriaen van Ostade
Elliott and I are really on the same wave length tonight! Leighton.
Leighton
I like both, but I like van Ostade better.
Van Ostade!
Van Ostade. I've found throughout the tournament that a lot of my painting critique comes down to "bodies don't look like that," at least when clearly the painter is trying to realistically represent bodies. So in the second Leighton example, I love the colors, but the person's left knee has no relation to where their hip ought to be. Unless there's someone else under there? I know painting bodies is hard but this irks me like a misused semicolon or incorrect apostrophe.
Leighton.
Susan says "Leighton"
I'm going to go with Leighton here. I like Van Ostade's scene better than Leighton's, but Leighton is a more proficient member of his scene than Van Ostade is of his. If you follow me.
And it's -- absurdly -- a tie! Both of these guys head back to the green room, van Ostade with a silly record of 0-0-2, and Leighton with an almost unbelievable record of 0-0-3! Only in the IAT...
