I am voting for Rousseau, whom I've always liked, over this clearly accomplished sculptor I have never heard of. Did anyone else have a Picture Lady come to their elementary school classroom? We had one in fifth grade. I think she came once a month or something. Anyway, I remember she brought a print of Rousseau's Sleeping Gypsy and we talked about it. That is the only painting I remember for certain. And I could still talk about it, it retains its mysteries.
Jungley Rousseau for me, who I've always liked, even though I've never seen these two paintings.
Mrs5000, I think Picture Lady came to my school too, with Sleeping Gypsy. I seem to recall. But I'm not sure what I could say about the painting offhand right now...except that it seems mysterious.

I'm not crazy about either, but I guess the second artist edges out the first guy. Lady under the gigantic orange tree isn't too bad, I guess.

Susan says "Rousseau"
Rousseau
I don't know what the deal is with Rousseau, but white marble doesn't really rock my world either. A tepid First Round vote for Rousseau.
Some votes-by-mail:
Alex: Roubiliac
Morgan: Rousseau
Kyle: Rousseau
Rousseau.
It's an easy one for the top guy, who beats Robiliac 10-1. Rousseau will move on to a tougher opponent in Round 2.
