I feel I probably am going to be in the minority here, but I find myself swayed by the epicness of Mantegna's paintings.

You're in the lead Mantegna!

Mantegna, but I like Manet as well.

Susan weighs in for Manet, and points out that he didn't really live until 1983.

Three Facebookers for Manet -- Linda, Mariah, and Grace.

Manet. Though what are the circumstances that would lead to the situation in the second picture?

Mantegna is quite wonderful, but here I'll confess that, yes, I do weary of religious subjects. Manet's work is also lovely, with a surprising range, and boy does he know how to people a scene. He gets my vote.

Um, Manet, amirite?

Maybe! Personally, I'm going with Mantegna. I respect what Manet was up too, but I've never completely felt him.

Manet.

Mantegna puts up a fight, but Manet takes it without too much trouble, nine votes against four. We'll see how he fares against a book artist in the Third Round.
