NOTE: I notice that three of these cards, and a number of cards I've used recently, were originally sent to the Jones family in Chicago.  I have no idea who they were, or even how I ended up with so much of their old mail.

Jack Smelt are easily caught and are excellent eating.  Up to 21" in length and weighing 1 to 1 1/2 pounds, they may be taken with either ocean reel or bait casting rods.  Snag lines are used also and it is not too uncommon to see 6 to 8 fish pulled in at one time.
