  1. The battle of the Lorenzos! I'll vote for the 2nd Lorenzo but only because Lorenzo Lamas didn't paint anything. Yet.

  2. This is kind of a time-and-place race, because both artists are quite good but not Big Fish. I'm especially fond of the late Gothic, so Monaco's my Lorenzo of choice. I go hubba hubba over his nativity especially: improbable pink architecture is always a plus, and what's up with those stone-colored people getting chewed out by the angel in the background? Oh, yes, they're shepherds. Mostly I like the multicultural crowd that's shown up to gawk at the baby Jesus.

  5. I always think it's fun when my brain goes, as I scroll-- "Definitely, definitely, definitely--whoa! New guy! How about Lotto! Forget the first guy!"

  6. I guess I should be more specific. Lorenzo Monaco.

  7. Lotto takes it in a close one, with eight votes against Lorenzo Monaco's six. That's enough to send him on to a Round Three contest with Thomas Hart Benton.
