ReplyDeleteA super-tough call for me. Bellows is kind of a "B" version of Eakins, which is still a high compliment. Avercamp is great, but my earlier joke that he painted Dutch Where's Waldos might have been a bit too accurate. I guess I just find Bellows more interesting. So I'll go with him.

ReplyDeleteI like that the supplemental tiebreak paintings for each of these guys expand their range. Mr. Iceskating can do a summer scene, and Mr. Pugilism can paint his mom. I like that mom. But I'll go with Avercamp and infinite charm.
