ReplyDeleteI like Carrà, especially that 3rd one. Plus it's like, hey, an Impressionist...er, I mean a Futurist...that is to say a Dadaist...or perhaps an Expressionist? All of the above.

ReplyDeleteOoh, toughie. I'll take careering Carra over quiet Corot. Or 20th-century innovation over 19th-century mastery, at least in this instance.
ReplyDeleteI went particularly to look at our local Corots this last weekend, and even in person they seem kind of... murky.

ReplyDeleteAnd the final tally is careering Carrá 10, quiet Corot 3. Corot will quietly leave the Tournament, but can feel pretty good about having beat Correggio and Courbet, and fighting Salvador to a tie.
