The Infinite Art Tournament, Round 2 TIEBREAK: David v. Hockney!

Halfway Week celebrations continue today and tomorrow as we try to untangle a snarl of ties that has had Jacques-Louis David and Francisco Goya in its grip for what seems like forever.  Will they finally play on through to the Third Round?  Will they fall to the Left Bracket?  Or will they just keeping tying with everybody, forever?  David Hockney and Ferdinand Hodler are going to give us a chance to find out!

  5. Man, this is a tough one. The top Hockney beats all of David's, but all of David's beat any of the rest of the Hockneys.

    I think I'll go for David for consistent goodness and a general feeling that he deserves to win at least one more round.

  7. Owie. I do enjoy Hockney. But I remember stopping dead in front of some lesser portrait by David that was just entrancingly good. That, and the Death of Marat, give it to David.
