Vote for the two artists of your choice! Votes generally go in the comments, but have been known to arrive by email, by postcard, or in a sealed envelope.

Please note that you may vote only once in each face-off.  Opining that both of the artists in one of the two face-offs is superior to the other is fine, but casting your votes for two artists in the same face-off is not permissible.

  1. Beccafumi. And Judd, but mostly because I *really* don't like that table.

  2. Johns, and I abstain from the second one 'cuz I don't like either of them -- Creepy table vs. Ikea furniture workshop outtakes.

  4. Certainly Beccafumi's tempestuous annunciation over Johns' garish sudoku! Judd's coolly machined modernism over Jones's tawdry farmed-out provocatism!

  5. I have a thing for Jasper Johns for some reason I can't even remember. And Judd, well there was/is one of those stacks of shelf-like things in the Albright-Knox. Also, I'm going to call everything "tawdry farmed-out provocatism" for the rest of the day.

  6. Give me Domenico in the first one.

And I'll take naked coffee table lady in the second contest. In a landslide.

  7. Jasper Johns!

Of the other two - a slight preference for Judd.

  8. I'll vote the Rebel ticket:

    Jasper Johns!

Of the other two - a slight preference for Judd.

  9. Here's a emailed vote for Johns and Jones.

  10. Time's up for the first pair -- Johns survives into Round 2, beating Beccafumi 8 votes to 5.

The bottom pair is still theoretically open, if you're just arriving late to the show!

  11. Too slow! Now the bottom match is closed too, with Judd over Jones with a vote tally of 8 to 4.
