  1. van der Goes - I keep seeing more interesting things to wonder about in his paintings every time I look at them. However, Gauguin's "Washerwomen" is definitely growing on me.

  3. Van der Goes, easy peasy. I don't "get" Gauguin. I once wrote a handful of art historians saying pretty much "Gauguin is pretty much just famous for being famous, isn't he? I mean, he's just not really a very good painter, am I right?" The response was rather chilly.
