Two rather famous artists get knocked out of the tournament this week. Van Dyck was at 1-1-1, before Arnold Böcklin made it past him in his, Böcklin's, second tiebreak match. Bronzino, meanwhile, had hoped for an influx of voters for over a year, but none have come, and he ends up losing his match with Jan Brueghel that began on January 5, 2013.
If there are no further ties -- always a big "if"! -- then this will be the final Second-Round match on the first of the eight bracket sheets. The Tournament progresses!

Jan Bruegel
Bruegel---I could stare at his paintings for hours because there is so much going on in them!
Bruegel
Böcklin!
tough choice, but Bruegel
Bruegel's works are busy, but as TB said, interesting to look at. Jan gets my vote.
Bruegel!
Böcklin!
Jan Bruegel. I want a room like that.
I find I prefer the bright and precisely crowded scenes of Jan Bruegel over the moody shades of Bocklin.
I'm having trouble deciding here.

An email vote "sticking with my man Böcklin."
Böcklin! Bruegel seems kind of gimmicky to me, or too technically virtuostic.
Time's up! Put down your pencils. Böcklin's long road through the brackets has come to its end. He'll have the consolation of a weird 2-2-2 win/loss/tie record, which is unique to him so far. Meanwhile, J. Bruegal keeps his left-bracket winning streak alive, and will see what he can do against Australian Arthur Boyd in LR3! Contacted for comment, he asked "What's an Australian?"
