I've got a thing for fauvism. Ingres.
That's not Ingres. It appears to actually be someone named Jawlenski or some such?
Holding my vote until this matter is cleared up.
Verified on the FB feed: Jawlensky.
Who does NOT get my vote.
Ivanov. Let's get some naked Russians in the mix.
WHERE'S MY INTERN?!?
Counting pfly for Jawlensky, Elizabeth for Ivanov. Carry on.
In that top one, it looks like the people are sort of avoiding Jesus! "Look at that weirdo! He's all by himself. No one talk to him." Also, why is that guy walking with a staff shaped like a torture implement? I feel like there's some context to this painting that I'm missing, but don't care to look up.
My vote is for Ivanov, still.
Morgan: I'm pretty sure the context is John the Baptist pointing to Jesus and saying, "yo, here comes the guy I've been telling you about."
Jawlensky
Also, staff topped with a cross? FORESHADOWING, DUDE!
Jawlensky
Oop yes, confirm me for Jawlensky.
Ivanov
Here's a vote-by-email for Ivanov.
Now, what ~I'm~ curious about is the context for the SECOND Ivanov.
I'm having a tough choice here... leaning... towards.... Jawlensky.
I before J! Ivanov before Jawlenski!
And Ivanov takes a nail-biter, 5-4!
