Vote for the artist of your choice! Votes go in the comments. Commentary and links to additional work are welcome. Polls open for at least one month past posting.
Do I even have to tell you how I'm casting my vote when there is a topless woman making a human coffee table out of herself in her leather boots, kneeing on a bearskin rug while so pleased with herself that she is looking in a mirror? I'll tell you what, if you added in a few people doing coke on that coffee table, and that might be the best piece of art ever created.
Jones made me think he was rather full of it. Plus, he made his masterwork by hiring a sculptor. Whereas Jordaens...well, a pretty awesome painter, with a wide body of work, in a time and place so crowded with luminaries that up until now he hadn't cracked my mental short list. A strong vote for Jordaens.
Jones got a lot more love than I expected, and it was a tied match after ten votes were cast. But then Jordaens took the last three, and wins the match 8-5. Both will go on to interesting next bouts. See ya there.
Voting in the Infinite Art Tournament? Awesome. And, please be aware that purely anonymous votes are not counted. You don't need to log in or use your real name, but you must identify yourself in some fashion for your vote to count.
Jacob Jordaens, but partly for non-art-related reasons.
ReplyDeleteJones made me think, which was probably the point. I'll vote for him.
ReplyDeleteJordaens (this is a vote against Jones)

ReplyDeleteJones. I'd rather see his in a museum as interesting, but not in my house.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather look at Jordaens, but Jones get my vote for being more provocative.

ReplyDeleteJordaens for Jordaens' sake. And, I am not embarrassed by the Jones table, I'm embarrassed for the Jones table.
