The Infinite Art Tournament, Round One: Holbein v. Homer!

Friends, it's the first First-Rounder of 2014, and potentially a bit of a rip-snorter. I can't remember whether this is the one that decided me to try the Tournament out, or the one that made me think I shouldn't do the Tournament.

Hans Holbein
1497ish - 1543
German; worked in Britain

-----

Winslow Homer
1836 - 1910
American

  2. Homer's pretty awesome, but I have a real thing for Holbein, so I'm voting for him.

  3. I once went to a Homer institute and left saying, "Wow. That's a lot of boats." But in this case, I will say Homer.

  4. Here's an emailed vote: " HOMER -- 'The Veteran in a New Field' -- one of my favorites."

  5. Ya know, I expected to vote for Hans on this one. But just sitting here looking at them, I gotta go with Homer.

  6. And the contest goes to Homer, 10 to 4! It's a tough break for Holbein, but he, Hans, will have another shot at glory through the long rigors of the Left Bracket!
