ReplyDeleteBut I'm going to simultaneously break the umlaut and Bocklin streak. Between his drabness and his ties, I'm tired of the Bocklinater. Come on Van Dyck, put Bocklin out of his misery!
I'll take Van Dyck in this race, and not just because I'm an incompetent slob about umlauts. I actually like Bocklin's whole moody Isle of the Dead thing, but not as much as Van Dyck's portraits.

ReplyDeleteUmlauted Böcklin survives his second tie-breaker. In his first match that didn't hang on the final vote, he gets by Van Dyck 8-4 and continues his arduous trek leftward through the brackets.
