  1. Hodler. Those paintings have hidden messages.

  2. I vote neither on this one. Not digging either guy. When is "Dogs Playing Poker" going to be on here?

  3. Loving Hodler. The only factor that made it remotely close was thinking for a second that Hofmann was really ahead of his times (he actually lived from 1880-1966).

  4. My parents had a Hofmann print when I was growing up. I didn't know until now it was Hofmann, but it is ridiculously familiar to me, so I must vote for him.

  5. Well spotted, Chuckdaddy. That looks like a good print to grow up with, pfly. Welcome to the show, Apo.

  6. I vote for Hofmann and his crazy bold colors.

  7. The first Hodler bugs me because my brain tries to resolve the clouds into letters, perhaps spelling out the name of a product being advertised. A brand of chocolate, perhaps.

My vote is going to go to Hofmann, his crazy bold colors, and the print the pfly grew up with.

  8. Through the mails, however, comes a vote for Hodler.

  9. And late-voting Candida clinches the win for Hodler, who takes the first round 7 to 4. He'll move on to test his mettle against David Hockney in Round 2.
