Honoré Daumier, parce que même si ses œuvres sont moins vivants, ils sont plus plein de vie.
Daumier
Daumier! Emotions over portraits.
I don't LOVE either of these, but I slightly prefer Daumier.
Gainsborough
Daumier
Daumier!
Tough one for me. I'm going with Gainsborough.
Easy for me, but the same result: Gainsborough.
However, a correspondent breaks for Daumier.
Daumier defeats Gainsborough with a fairly robust total of 7 votes to 3. That will move him forward to meet some guy named Degas in the Third Round; Gainsborough flops over to the Left Bracket where he'll be up against the winner of Deacon/Delaunay, and a whole region of the second page of the brackets lurches back into action!
Thanks for voting!
