Hilliard! His stuff is so quintessentially 16th-century it's almost a parody of itself. And I'm not into the Grandma-Moses vibe that Hicks has going. At least not today.

That first Hicks one, well a print of it, hung on the wall when I was a little kid, and for many years. I *have* to vote for it.
ReplyDeleteHicks's animals staring deep into my soul is very creepy; my vote goes to him.
ReplyDeletePeaceable Hicks!
ReplyDeleteHilliard. Hicks' creepy cats freak me out.

ReplyDeleteI'm not big on either of these, but I'll go with the first guy, mostly because I like how the lion's eyes are funny.

ReplyDeleteI really like Hicks, but I really REALLY like Hilliard, so--Hilliard!
ReplyDeleteAnd that wraps up the voting, with Hicks taking down Hilliard by a score of 8-5. On to Round 2!
