    Hockney, definitely. Though I rather like Hodgkin's "think outside the frame" approach.

    And I think I'll punt on my personal vote. I like the explosiveness of Hodgkin, but I'm not marveling at the craftsmanship. Hockney brings the craftsmanship, but the emotional aridity makes it hard for me to feel much love.
