For the first time I will vote for Eakins, though I might have voted for him earlier had I seen the first portrait. He even makes the velvet arm of the chair look disgruntled.

Oh, no, this is one of those "why must I choose?" votes. Van Eyck is awesome, but we saw quite a few awesome Eakins paintings during our Trip East, giving me confidence to throw my vote to Eakins in this cruel, cruel contest.

Eakins has some stunning ones, and Van Eyck has not grown on me.
Eakins and Van Eyck duked it out to a 4-4 tie... but then Eakins pounded out five more votes for a substantial 9-4 victory. Van Eyck will stay alive in the Left Brackets, but Eakins is off directly for the semifinals!
