What is it, then? Well, it's mostly a spur to organize scattered data about the arbitrary travel of Mrs.5000 and myself. I will also include a relevant piece of art, as a gesture toward the blog's theme and to include some material of possible interest to someone besides Mrs.5000 and myself.
But what order to list the states in? Well, how about an order that is, for our purposes, completely arbitrary! We'll proceed according to the 2012 American Human Development Index, from lowest to highest.

Art Mecca: The best show in town appears to be the Huntington Museum of Art.
Among the strongest areas are works by 19th century French artists of the Barbizon School. This collection was donated by one of the Museum’s founders, Herbert Fitzpatrick, who also donated his collection of Georgian silver, Islamic prayer rugs, [and] an impressive collection of American and European paintings and prints.

West Virginia is a problematic state for Mrs.5000, who is still paying the price for numerous family trips made in her youth for which hard data is not available. It is probable that there were several girlhood incursions into West Virginia; however, only Berkeley County has had definitive confirmation.

The West Virginia Turnpike from Charleston to Beckley is a fun drive. Twisty, turny, swoopy. You have to pay for the privilege, though.
That's the spirit! Now I can have a West Virginia aspiration!
"We'll proceed according to the 2012 American Human Development Index, from lowest to highest." oh, i didn't see that coming! that's an excellently arbitrary way to order your state data. will you update these posts when you revisit the states?
