I like the matched selections of horse riding and women looking to the left (or is it the right?). I sort of kind of like the carousel picture, but I am going to stay with the native son and go with Géricault, on the strength of the second portrait (also the leopard-skin saddle blanket is interesting).
Gericault, mostly for the second painting. Not that I was inclined to anyhow, but I don't think I could have voted for Gertler after seeing that woman's leg and foot.

I'm voting for Gertler. Just cuz
Gericault!

Hmm, I kinda want to say Gertler, but can't quite, so Géricault.
Gertler is pretty okay, I think, okay enough to vote for at least
Géricault
At this point I dislike them both equally. Maybe I'll make a decision later, but for now I abstain.
Géricault for me. It's hard to say no to an artist you first encountered via The Pogues.
A vote-by-mail for Géricault has arrived!

Géricault wins it without too much trouble, 9 to 2. Voting closed!
