I will make an exception to my rule of staying out of the early vote in my enthusiasm for Caspar F*cking Friedrich and "The Wreck of the Hope," one of my favorite f*cking paintings. (The sheep are pretty cool too. But Friedrich!!!)
I will be the lone vote for Frink because our library has two of her aquatint and etching portfolios/books in our special collections, and they are AWESOME. Much better than her sculpture.
Friedrich was impressive enough that I surfed for some more images because I was (and still am) trying to figure out why I have no clue about this guy, and some of his other pieces very nearly made me laugh--unintentionally, I think, but I could use a good laugh, so it essentially reinforces my vote for CDF, who was probably bummed that he was around too late for Bach to use his initials as a motif.
Voting in the Infinite Art Tournament? Awesome. And, please be aware that purely anonymous votes are not counted. You don't need to log in or use your real name, but you must identify yourself in some fashion for your vote to count.
Woah! Friedrich.
ReplyDelete"Caspar F*cking Friedrich", as he was known in my freshman art history class
ReplyDeleteI really, really want to vote for the sheep, but the gothic horrorscapes that Caspar F*cking Friedrich produced just blow me away. CFF it is.

ReplyDeleteBy Email: Friedrich! Finally a Great F! I will join the landslide.
ReplyDeleteI vote for Caspar the Friendly Friedrich, with "The Old Gym" running a close second.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm with the Friedrich crowd.
