The Infinite Art Tournament, Round 2: Dubuffet v. Dürer!

A bunch of really crazy stuff had to happen within the Tournament rules system for this particular pairing to come about today.  If you enjoy the peculiar marble-raceway bracket system that makes this Tournament tick, I prepared a special post especially for you, immediately below this one.  But I'm warning you, it's extremely dorky.

Jean Dubuffet
1901 - 1985
French

Beat Siennese master Duccio by a two-vote swing in Round 1.  YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!

-----

Albrecht Dürer
1471 - 1528
German

Defeated Anthony Van Dyck without too much trouble in Round 1.

Dürer and his rabbit!

Bunny rabbit? Mr. Curls? Guy who looks like my friend Larry? Dürer!

Dürer and the sexy longhaired stoner with the funny hat. Also bunny. It's almost bunny season again here.

Have to go with Durer. How could I not? And awesome choices for representational works too.

Ah well, despite my long fondness of Dubuffet, I must go with Dürer.

Bunny rabbit? Guy who looks like Elizabeth's friend Larry? Titan of art history matched with a guy I don't particularly care for?

Dürer!

Yes - I suppose it has to be Dürer - I like Dubuffet's Jazz guys though.

By email: "One of the easiest votes for Durer."

I was almost so distracted by the bunny that I forgot to vote, but then I remembered: a vote for Durer!

Dürer lights it up in Round Two, piling up a vote count of twelve to Chuckdaddy. And it shall be as I foretold: a tough match of Dürer and Donatello in the Third Round.
