  1. Epstein! Look, I voted for a sculptor!

  3. Okay, after the novelty of name recognition wore off I think that I'll change my vote to Epstein.

  4. We got to see the second Ensor, Christ's Entry into Brussels, in January. It's gihugic and weird and and spectacular, and it has its own special room at the Getty. I can see where his grotesqueries wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea--though there are pretty colors, along with the cryptic anger--but Belgium's famous painter has my vote.

  6. Haha: DrSchnell's comment. Belgium's famous painter! I'll raise a glass and sit and stare, understand the man.

  7. James Ensor is, I think, an acquired taste. But I've acquired him.

  8. Ensor, partially by virtue of not being Epstein.

  9. Candida's vote clinches it for Mr. Ensor. If he HAD been Epstein, then he would have got her vote, and therefore... wait, that's confusing.

Ensor takes five straight votes to take a 6-4 "great moments in art competition" victory.
