Please note that you may vote only once in each face-off.  Opining that both of the artists in one of the two face-offs is superior to the other is fine, but casting your votes for two artists in the same face-off is not permissible.

Definitely Mr. Claude Lorrain on top, and I like Copley so I'll go with him on the bottom.

Yay for Cimabue and Copley!

Definitely Claude Lorraine; have had a soft spot for him since reading Tom Stoppard's Arcadia. I'll go with Copley in Faceoff the Second, though I can't say I find myself terribly impressed with him - that girl is just a little bit creepy in some undefined way.

We have us an email vote here for Claude and Copley.

Cimabue and Copley, please. But PB reminds me I have Stoppard's Arcadia on my to-read list. I hope it doesn't make me change my mind when it's too late!

I like that with both Cimabue and Claude you can actually see them evolving to a next art phase. Cimabue's people are just starting to turn and Claude seems to have reluctantly added to the bottom of his epic landscapes a few Greek gods to satisfy the Renaissance status quo. I'll take Claude because although he's a bit much for me, Cimabue's inbetweeness looks a bit awkward to me. I kind of want him to stay in the Byzantine stage.

And Clemente... I really pushed for him last round, and still do like his big-eyed portraits (especially over surly naked guy with owl), but I'll go Copley by a John Hancock.

Oops, never voted. I'm going to call it a wash up top; I like Claude and Cimabue both.

No, wait. I'll go for Claude over Cimabue, just like I'd go for Beethoven over Vivaldi. Sorry, Mrs.

Copley on the lower deck, presumably to be promptly handed his skull by Claesz.

And that was it for this pairing. Claude dismisses poor Cimabue 8-3, and Copley wallops Clemente 10-1. We'll see how they do against Clouet and Claesz respectively starting this week.
