Definitely Dobson. The positioning of that gun is just too perfect. One can just imagine the precocious young son, "Don't you think you might be compensating a bit, papa?"
I agree with Elizabeth--in fact, a recent draft for a quilt I was considering looked a lot like the first Van Doesburg, but with color--but what I like in a quilt doesn't always do it for me in other arenas. Besides, I think the Dobson ones are very speaking.
What a thriller! Van Doesburg went ahead 6-1, before five Dobson votes in a row evened up the score. That puts us in to what we call a "tie," and means that both gentlemen will go into the pool of artists who win be taking on the Play-In Artists. You'll probably see them again in a year or so.
Voting in the Infinite Art Tournament? Awesome. And, please be aware that purely anonymous votes are not counted. You don't need to log in or use your real name, but you must identify yourself in some fashion for your vote to count.
Dead bunny Dobson FTW! ("Daddy, why did you kill the bunny rabbit?")
ReplyDeleteBut I must say van Doesburg's designs have awesome quilting potential. I like the first one in particular.
van Doesburg
ReplyDeleteFeeling unexcited about both. But less unexcited by van Doesburg

I'm not a big fan of either but I'll go with Van Doesburg
ReplyDeleteWell I like 'em both, and I'm going for Van Doesburg. It works out the same in the end. I like the mathiness.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, toss-up. I'll go with Van Doesburg.
