Well, thanks to the tournament I can say right off that Dix reminds me a little of Max Beckmann, whom he presumably rubbed elbows with, and a little of Balthus, though without the prepubescent ickiness. Obviously, he's got plenty ick of his own to keep things lively. He's an easy win here. I just can't heart Jim Dine.
Dine can't make up to Dix's lead, and loses this match 5-8. Both artists will progress to opponents who probably be surprising to Tournament followers. Never a dull moment.

I was initially leaning towards Dix, but the more I look at his art the more it disturbs me. I'll vote Dine.
Absolutely Dix! I can *totally* relate to that (wo)man in the first painting.

I like Dix's distinct disturbed style
Dix please.
Oooh…I like both of them. But I"m going for Dine.

I kind of like the second Dix, and will vote accordingly.
I'll go with Dix - just far more interesting.
A postcard for Dine has arrived.
A low-key vote for Dine.
