In the 1970s, my parents were forced by circumstances to buy a dubious butter-colored station wagon with fake wood-panel siding. It had an 8-track player built into the dash, and came with a single 8-track cassette, one of the many easy listening albums of Ferrante and Teicher.
What ARE those reindeer up to? Cotton candy? And why the axe--Christmas trees? Why the pail? Is Ferrante the one with the square butt, or the round butt? Were they really otherwise indistinguishible?
I never knew why I knew Ferrante and Teicher! I didn't remember we ever had an 8-track. Yikes. Butter colored? Really? I remember the wood panel and the general aircraft-carrier size of that car, but not the color.
