Put up a fair number of votes in losing to big-name Caravaggio in Round 1.

Vote for the two artists of your choice! Votes generally go in the comments, but have been known to arrive by email, by postcard, or in a sealed envelope.

Please note that you may vote only once in each face-off.  Opining that both of the artists in one of the two face-offs is superior to the other is fine, but casting your votes for two artists in the same face-off is not permissible.

  1. It's weird, I thought Burri was preposterous at first, but I'm starting to get a little art-crush on him.

And Campin -- I don't think that the images I've used for him (keeping in mind that I don't have totally free reign in the way I choose images) do him justice.

  2. Calder and Canova. For once I agree with Morgan.

  3. Calder and Campin for me. Though I'd be happy to see any of them sticking around awhile longer. Which is good, because it's looking like a hot little skirmish.

  4. Calder- For once I can say that I've been in close proximity to his work here at the Olympic Sculpture park.
Campin- the subjects are not to my taste but the picture quality is very mesmerizing.

  5. I think you know which one I like the best: Tiny Tim Breast Feeds a Kid.

  6. Calder, giant paperclip art!
Campin, though yea, after seeing a few other examples...

  7. I was on the fence with the jest pairing, until I realized that Calder didn't just make mobiles- he INVENTED them. And Campin? I'm not sir what animal the woman looks like in the second one, but it's not human.

    Calder and Canova

  9. Calder swept this one easily, taking Burri 11-3. Canova had to work a little harder, but still comes up on top 9-5.
