I like Balla, but Audubon...how can you not adore him?
Wow, this is a hard one. I pick Audubon.
You know, I'm going to go with Balla here.
I'm having a Balla
The first Balla painting made me say "Wow!" Okay, well I didn't actually vocalize it, but I thought about it.
I vote Balla!
Hmm, well I feel like I *should* vote for Audubon but I have a big soft spot for Balla. His "Dynamism of a Dog on a Leash" hangs in Buffalo's Albright Knox Museum, where I went on countless school field trips. Like most kids I got a kick out of that painting.
Diversify Audubon! Diversify!
Strong vote for Balla.
Audubon!
I did really like the first Balla one but really there's no competition.
Audubon for the win! That goose...I want to reach out and pet it. And the hawks? Absolutely amazing.
I had to think about this one for awhile, but I'm going to hand it to Audobon as the more diligent and audacious innovator of the two. Plus I like the pretty birds.
I'm still loving the Audubon. Plus, I would've voted Balla out in Round 1, and I'm going to try again here.
Balla. For all his realism and attention to detail, Audobon's paintings look flat to me.
Balla, mainly for that first picture.
Here's an email vote for "Audubon all the way.
...but ~I'm~ with Giacomo, one of my favorite "new artists" I've discovered through this tourney.
Balla, but just by a little bit! Audubon's birds are spectacular, but... I really like Balla's first piece.
This is the closest contest I've seen. I just come down in favour of Balla for the same reason as Chuckdaddy.
And Balla gets away from Audubon in the late voting to win 10-7, becoming the first artist to make it into Round Four! He'll take on Jean-Michelle Basquiat in that contest; voting is now closed in this one.
