Burne-Jones, please.
Buren. Though probably Burne-Jones would have won paired against someone else.
Hey, one of those modern-artsy people I actually enjoy! I wonder what his works look like in person.
I vote Buren.
Burne-Jones for me.
Doing extra research just make me like both more and left me more confused about who to pick. So I'll just go with my first impression.
Burne-Jones
I like the first guy but it's more of a style and era that I like more than talent because talent when it comes to painting is something I know nothing about. Are those first ones paintings? You see. I know nothing.
I'm about to read that first chapter of that running book. Thanks for the recommendation! If I like it, I'll buy it for 8 bucks new.
Well, I've been on the fence, but guess I'm going to fall off on the side of Burne-Jones.
Buren. (BUREN!!!)
But I love Burne-Jones too, especially that first one. That girl looks like a Vermont hipster.
Buren. If I had any actual ability to jump lightly from column to column, that's what I would want to do.
Normally, I love me some pre-Raphaelites, but Burne-Jones is giving me a bit of the fantods. Chick #1 is clearly drugged out of her gourd. (I was going to say she was dead, but maybe she's just dead to the world.) And I have to imagine that B-J had the guy holding his sword point up between his legs originally and then thought, No, that's a little too phallic. I'll dial it back a bit and have the naked sword pointing down instead.
And the women in painting #2 have apparently been selected for some 19th-century reality show where all of the women have to be the same height and shape and have the same jawline and where the normal laws of motion are suspended.
Buren … though this is like comparing grapefruits to coconuts.
Sir Edward Burne-Jones. I admired his hyper-romantic almost gothic style for quite a while without really knowing who he was.
Stripes will only get you so far.
What's wrong with comparing grapefruits to coconuts?
Having said that, I'm not really feeling either of these guys myself, I'm afraid.
Burne-Jones, but I do like brightly painted interiors and mirrors as well.
We've got an email vote for Burne-Jones here.
I vote Buren!
Last second flip flop again. Candida's criticisms of Burne-Jones are just too spot on (I love the reality show one). I'm switching my vote to the geometrically mesmerizing Buren.
I'm actually going to do a half-flip myself, from abstaining to Burne-Jones, based on another piece of his that I've seen lately.
Wow, it's a thrilling rollercoaster of a bout between the French Conceptualist and Birmingham's Pre-Raphaelite! Counting Dr. Ken's vote in favor of Buren, and with Chuckdaddy's 11th-hour change of mind, we end up with Buren on top... by a single point. How will he do against Flemish master Pieter Brueghel? YOUR VOTE WILL COUNT!!!
