It's the Book Arts! Open Studio with Mrs.5000
Come along with Infinite Art Tournament as we take an exclusive tour of Mrs.5000's subterranean book arts lair!
Shh, she's working!
...with her characteristic care and precision!
The subterranean book arts lair shares much in common with the retreats of other wizards, especially in its profusion of eldrich tomes and colorful bric-a-brac.
You never know what you might end up needing, so it's best to keep everything well sorted.
After all, art is an intuitive process that depends on, and evolves in interrelationship with, its component materials!
And the craftsperson is nothing without her tools.
It's fun to go exploring in the lair. You never know what you'll find.
It is, however, very well organized.
If you need a few broken umbrella skeletons, for instance, you'll find them right where they belong.
A place for everything!
And everything in its place!

Why did I think you were living cat free?
& when do we get to see the quilt studio?
Kitty! Also, I'm jealous. I wish I had a nice studio like that. But then, I don't get commissions from Yale. :-)
So is Mrs. 5000 in the Infinite Art Tournament? She's better than many of those other shlubs.
Calico: You thought we were living cat-free because you remember back when my kitty Yoyo died. Caliban here is my stepcat.
You can see the quilt studio here any time you like. It still looks much the same, although my "stash has probably tripled in volume and halved in average quality.
"Christine M": I feel perenially guilty that I took the good room. We fixed up the basement room pretty well, but it's definitely a subterannian lair.
Dug: There's an unstated rule that if I know you personally, you can't be in the Infinite Art Tournament.
How fascinating!! I would love to have a lair!
Cat cat cat. [Posted from the sadly cat-free zone of the National Art Library in the Victoria & Albert Museum.] I harbor jealousy for the lair.
G!!!
Wow, how awesome! And so organized! Next time I cross the moat I hope to see it for myself—I blush to say I never even knew such a wonderful lair existed until now.
Because we never tango down there.
I am jealous of the subterranean lair... I am more jealous of your quilting room w/ adjacent fabric storage zone. But considering that I live alone and theoretically my entire apartment is my craft room, I really shouldn't complain.
Also - CALIBAN!!! Hi kitty! =)
i love the m5000 artist lair commentary! i would like to see a series!
