Boyd, but I'm not to fond of either of them, really.

You know I like the Low Countries, and am intrigued by the perspective in the Last Supper Scene (converging on at least three distinct points along the central axis, NOT a single vanishing point as Wiki claims). But a little online gander confirms Arthur Boyd as my choice in this match. Hubba hubba bright Australian landscapes.

Talk about two ends of the spectrum … I go for Boyd.

For me, this one is kind of a powerhouse first-round matchup. I wasn't familiar with either artist pre-tournament, but I really like Boyd's Australian craziness. And Bouts' altarpiece seems a bit stiff to me. But the Madonna -- zowie. That's some sweet late-mediaeval figurative painting, yep. And it gets my vote.

As an aside, does anybody know what Jesus is holding in his right hand, there? Potato he has?

Mail-in vote for Boyd: "let's give the Aussies a go, & I like the crow.

Bouts, please, unless somebody can convince me that Boyd's second painting's vertical and diagonal lines are spelling words if you can get the right perspective.
