Still Altdorfer. Though I think I might like the other guy's work better in person.
Andre. Altdorfer doesn't really do it for me still. Andre's works hold a larger emotional impact for me, while Altdorfer is "meh, that's kinda fun to look at."
Altdorfer. Second painting could be a scene straight out of Tolkien - I love it. Andre does nothing for me.
See, now I'm voting for Altdorfer. It's all in the context.
Altdorfer. Turbulent skies for the win!
Both of my round one guys lost.
But I'm going with Altdorfer for the skies and flags and impossible perspectives. Wait, is that Mordor in the distance? Where's the oliphaunts?
When I was house hunting, there was one house that had a place to stack the wook by the fireplace that looked like the second Andre work there. It's just a section of tiled floor on not-so-great hardwood. He should have moved one section out of place, or made it a different color. It's like a setting or scene in a play with no action or dialogue.
wook = wood
Well, I voted for both of these (my vote counted!) and now...well, I can't completely love either, but I will go with Altdorfer. Andre is not bad in the "put stuff in a big room" genre, but, you know, they're basically 30-second sketches in nice materials. I think Altdorfer's achievement is much more impressive.
Altdorfer
Altdorfer.
And is it just me, or does his middle painting look like it belongs on the cover of a 70s rock album?
Altdorfer- also loving that 2nd painting
Altdorfer!
Altdorfer, though I'm not convinced at this point that my vote is going to be really vital. I'm willing to pretend it is, though!
I'm going with Altdorfer.
I'll also take Altdorfer over Amigoni in my personal tournament. Looks like the Rennaisance German is going to make it to the Round of 250!
Altdorfer this time.
I really like both the new works you introduced this round.
Another vote from Altdorfer via the mail.
Altdorfer. I like minimalism, but minimal "floor sculpture" never did it for me--unless it involved 50 tons of dirt or 50,000 steel rods, that kinda thing.
Voting is now closed on this pairing.
