FAMOUS BANYAN TREE ...at historic Lahaina, Maui, Hawaiian Islands.  Planted in 1873 by W.O. Smith, it has spread over a full acre and shades most of the entire town square adjacent to the picturesque harbor and courthouse.

  2. Sorry! NOT boring! Banyan trees are amazing and thrilling sights. I haven't seen THIS particular tree, but I recognized the banyan before I scrolled even below the leaf canopy on the postcard.

  3. Dug, was it as magical as Elaine says? And does the postcard recapture the magic for you?

  4. Would I mislead you?

And how about that perigee moon??

  5. It was really, really shady. The postcard missed that aspect.

  6. Now that I'm looking at it on a computer instead of a tiny cell phone screen it does look kinda shady - and magical!
