Dear Lyvernia - We are really enjoying this sunny warm climate.  The boys are getting brown.  The surf came right up to our cottage.  I flew around the island. (My first time to fly.)  There are 3 other couples from B.C. staying here.  Bye-for-now.  See you soon.  Miriam.

HARRY S TRUMAN BIRTHPLACE  Harry S. Truman, the only Missourian elected President of the United States, was born in this house on May 8, 1884.  The nation's 33rd president lived in the one-and-one-half story, white frame house until he was eleven months old.

8-25-88  Hi: I took Claudine thru the Truman birthplace & found these new view cards.  Thought you would like one too.  If you want, I expect you to get mother's cards.  The fair is here this week - on the square as always & I expect to walk down this evening.  What is Jerry up to now?  Love to both, Esther (Read mothers card.

Dear Dan, It sure was good that you came to the cottage!  Hope your drive & flight were o.k.  Good visit with Sylvia, & Mary & Warren in Iowa.  Good museum - covers "the West" - & also fur trading in other places (NW, Alaska, American colonies, etc.)  We've been consumed by mosquitoes.  Love, Mom.
