This week's Quiz is the first visual one in a while, and a good excuse to throw in some pretty pictures. Each image is a reasonably characteristic, if not necessarily famous, piece by a painter with a distinctive style. For each image,

Reasonably sure of some of these, guessing on a few. Interesting that you could find obscure examples, as (except for the Van Gogh) I certainly never saw these in art history class.

6. I've SEEN this. I've seen a whole exhibit of these. I really liked them. They were quite large. A man made them. What's his name? I'm mind-blocked.

Wooooooood! And here I was so smug at my knowledge that it was Thomas Hart Benton. Now I'm not even sure if Thomas Hart Benton's the name of an actual painter. Maybe it's one of the actors in "Taps." Criminy.
