Bird's-eye view of La Crosse, Wis. from Grandad Bluff. This thriving manufacturing, wholesale and retail city is an awe inspiring sight when seen from Grandad Bluff towering 600 feet above the city.
NATIONAL COWBOY HALL OF FAME and Western Heritage Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Side view of the main entrance to the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. The building's architecture suggestive of the pioneer's tent and camp circle was dedicated June 26, 1965.
If the post card of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame is boring and I have been to the National Cowboy Hall of Fame does that therefore make me boring? I would like to mention I was taken under diress but then enjoyed my visit.
ReplyDeleteLaCrosse, Wisconsin is in a very beautiful part of that state.. not that you could tell in that photo.
ReplyDeleteI find the City Park ominous. What's inside that building with barred windows?
ReplyDeleteBut I REALLY like the Florida apartments. Wish I'd bought one back when this postcard was published - the land must be worth billions. Unless it has ben taken back by the sea already.
Why in America do we take pride in big museums? We only have a few centuries of personal history - and I doubt there's a lot of indigenous art in that one.
Ah, the days when we were a manufacturing nation, rather than an importing one ...
Speaking of manufacturing - but thriving? Will have to take IamSusie's word for this one.
I am all for suggestive buildings.
As an Okie in my previous life, I remember countless school trips to the Cowboy Hall of Fame. I agree it's a pretty dull postcard, but it's actually a pretty interesting place as long as you stay out of the stupid section about rodeo heroes. Lotsa big belt buckles there , if memory serves.
ReplyDeleteWow, largest museum collection on a campus in the state of Texas? That's gotta be pretty large.
