  2. Is that garnished with Spam? (I knew a guy who put chopped spam on frozen pizza.)

  3. Meals made from boxed mixes are tastier when shaped into a bunt.

  4. You know, we often had Spam with our Kraft macaroni and cheese when I was a kid. We'd put the Spam on toast and forgo the radial pinwheel presentation. And, hey, we all liked it, my dad most of all. I'm not vouching for it nutritionally, of course, but you'd certainly be getting enough salt.

I like the idea of spending no more than 7 minutes on the main dish, but carving radishes into elaborate rosettes while you're waiting for the water to boil. I was going to scoff at the labor of homemade pie for dessert, but squinting at the Shopping List it appears that apple pie is to be purchased from a bakery.

Do you think that's tomato sauce in the pepper rings? Ketchup? Caviar?

  5. It looks kinda like raw hamburger, doesn't it? Maybe your computer has better resolution than mine...

Happy for this posting, though--now I can cross "Plan tonight's dinner" off my list. Whew.

  6. I could not tell what anything was. I thought the middle yellow part was ramen noodles shaped in a jello mold, then served with meat loaf or something. So now you know what *I* grew up with.

  7. My first thought is what great eyesight Mrs. 5K must have, seeing as how she can read the shopping list, but then she does have access to the original.

I think the 7 minutes is rather fantasy. To fit in that time frame, I think the noodles would have to be served raw -- the crunch would add so much texture! -- whilst the rosette radishes were being carved.

And the "pepper rings"? I thought they were pickles.
