I finished a quilt!
It's a "StormQuilt," one of my all-salvage-materials series. I think it's the 60th quilt I've finished. A few more details over at the quilt blog.
Monday Night Weigh-In!
Fitness-Type Activities Engaged in this week: Hardly any; we were fairly brutalized by heat this week and spent a lot of time lying in front of fans, whimpering. Still no gym decision. I did run today, though, an enjoyable but fairly ugly four miles with lots of walking.
Diet-Type Activities: Nothing special on this front. I do have a promising new strategy for avoiding coffee sugarbombs, but any progress here will be counteracted by above-average ice cream intake over the next ten days as there are several celebrations lined up.
Tomatos: A few days were missed during a spate of visits, but we are back on the horse. I think that I'm actually getting fairly accustomed to the taste, but am still fighting a lifetime of deep-felt aversion.
Weight: 208.4 lbs, which is -1.8 lbs from last week. Still no formal plan. But who needs one when you're shedding two pounds a week!

Why is it called StormQuilt?
The idea with the scrap-and-salvage quilts is that I'd make 'em fast and kind of sloppy, so that I could practice new techniques without worrying too much about precision. So it's like a Storm of Quilts. In theory.
Every time I read the word 'diet' in your blog it makes me want to have a Coke.
My baby had some tomato with is dinner last night.
Cool beans on the 1.8lb. Enjoy your real ice cream as we don't have any in the UK. Aparently no one told the ice cream makers rationing finished a long time ago and they could go back to using cream. The one time I dared to ask for cream with my coffee instead of milk at a restuarant you would have thought I had asked for a small child grilled med well.
@Yank: Every time I'm in danger of getting too nostalgic about life in England, I remember the crap ice cream and the deep-fried toast.
Fried slice yum that make life worth living. I suck at it but hubby is good so it all works out. Nothing like sucking the fat out of your toast in the morning.
This is making tonight's tomatoes sound pretty good.
it is just pan fried like grilled cheese. Clarified butter is the trick I am told.
Now, see? The whole time I was in London, no fried toast AT ALL! They even put it in a little rack so as to be sure you did not get anything hot at breakfast! I loooooove butter! (The thing I discovered: to eat well in England, go to foreign/ethnic restaurants. And order tomatoes!)
@Elaine- you have to ask for fried slice and it is kind of a lower middle class thing. You won't find it at most hotels but at cafes on the street. All toast in England is NOT deepfat fried. Ethnic resturants are sooooooooooooo good over here, I am adicted to Thai right now.
I love those colors. Bitchin quilt again.
And good going on the weight drop. I hope that ice cream does not foil your efforts as it has mine.
