Isn't it just a combination of the inks and the postcard paper stock?-- unless printed on glossy stuff, the colors are washed out regardless of photography. For ultimate boredom, what about b&w postcards? Though I must say, the expanses of parking lot or street do up the Squalor Index!
I love the captions. Some of them are full of so much tension you can just hear someone who is so super proud of the city's shopping centre that they can barely stand having to describe it in only one sentence.
As much as I'm prepared to agree that the world's largest shopping mall does not an exciting postcard make, I have to say that spiral stair case is pretty darn cool looking.
Voting in the Infinite Art Tournament? Awesome. And, please be aware that purely anonymous votes are not counted. You don't need to log in or use your real name, but you must identify yourself in some fashion for your vote to count.
I like the faded look of them.
ReplyDelete@boo: That's just poor photography. But it kind of complements the look, doesn't it.

ReplyDeleteIs it sick that the funeral parlor gives me warm fuzzy feelings of home?

ReplyDeleteThe Lloyd Center covers 56 blocks? Who knew?
ReplyDeleteI like the Greenville, Illinois one because it's such a generic view. Looks just like ________.
ReplyDeleteDoes a postcard need to be really old to be boring? Was there a boring era for postcards? Am I boring your readers with my boring questions?

ReplyDeleteThe rest, not so much.
Those are boring. As is this comment.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of Barksdale AFB because my father was stationed there 1961-1963. The postcard really brought back memories. Thanks for sharing!
