The Thursday Quiz LII

The Thursday Quiz!

The Thursday Quiz is an "Is It or Isn't It" game. From the list of twelve items, your job is to determine whether each IS or ISN'T a true example of the week's category.

Remember always the system of justice:

No research, Googling, Wikiing, or use of reference books. The Thursday
Quiz is a POP quiz. Violators will be jailed for contempt.
This Week's Category will overrule your objections!

  9. Mostly guessing here, relying on vague memories of the front section of Barnes and Noble through the years (sorry, if we had a Powell's Megalopolis of Books here, I'd be there, but we don't). I've only read The Firm, and saw a couple of the movies (Pelican Brief and the Firm) back in the day.

    1. Sounds like a James Bond movie, but I think it's also a book of his. so yes.

  13. And once again, you had to be perfect this week to go home with a prize. Perfect right out of the gate was The Calico Cat, claiming her third Gold Star and her four Star overall.

    Yankee in England takes the TQLII Silver, becoming the 39th person in possession of a Thursday Quiz Star. I believe it is the first TQ Star to be heading to the United Kingdom.

    DrSchnell grabs his third Blue; with 16 total Stars, he's back in a tie for second on the all-time leaderboard.

    KarmaSartre takes a Green Star today; that gives him 13 total and puts him in a all-time tie for fourth.

  14. @Calico: Always happy to empower a Happy Dance.

    @Yank: "chavey"?

    @d: Couldn't tell you. I read "A Time to Kill" ten or twelve years ago, and thought it was fine. Haven't followed up, though.

    @Eliz: Mmmm.... cup of jurisprudence....

    @Karma: As is often the case, the best line of the day...

    @boo: Well, a QUARTER billion seller.

  15. Whoops. DrSchnell actually has ~17~ Stars, and has second spot all to himself.

  16. CHAV a british slang similary to red neck, but much more detailed. CHAV supposedly means(this is disputed) Council House And Violent. These would be the economically depressed dressed head to toe in really bad knock of Burberry. Similar to the French De Clase(Wow I am so sure that is no were near the spelling, Hooked on Phonics worked for me).
